Portal Publications, a graphic arts publishing company, introduced its Occasions ™ stationery line today. The line, which includes invitations and thank you cards, is a new direction for the company that is well known for its products by popular artists such as Anne Geddes. Occasions meets the needs of consumers who want up-scale social stationery at affordable prices. The designs are versatile enough to be used year round for party invitations and thank you's.

"Occasions follows the latest trend of indulgent simplicity in stationery," said Gary Higgins, vice president and creative director for Portal. "We've created simple elegance in this line by using rich colors, textures and embossings to enhance the product."

Occasions was designed in house by Portal's award winning creative team. It was first available to retailers in September 2001 and is currently available to consumers in many specialty retail stores. The line includes invitations themed for birthday parties, baby showers, surprise parties, as well as general invitations that can be used for any event. Portal will be introducing the spring line of Occasions in May. This line includes a wedding shower invitation and other invitations with a spring theme. The retail prices are between $7.50 and $9.50.
